All iced up

"Crazy Horse"? Perhaps, but not as crazy as this week's waterway candidate for the Darwin Awards - nutters try to drive a Peugeot along the Union Canal. And fail with predictable results.

The local papers are full of "don't walk on the ice" stories which, of course, everyone is ignoring as per usual. Nowhere more so than at Well Creek, where skating is a traditional pastime - though this is said to be the first time since 1996 that it's taken place.

Meanwhile, Waterscape's Twitter-fed snow map doesn't appear to be showing anything for us, but maybe you'll have more luck.
