gardner 4lw

Hi can anyone tell me is the gardner 4lw suitable for a 63ft canal narrow boat, or is it just to big, thank you.

WW says:

The 4LW is really too big for a narrowboat.
The boat would need to be built deep enough to accommodate the large diameter propeller needed to use the engine power.
The engine could only be "opened up" on deep water and rivers, it would be only running at tick-over for most of the time on canals which would not be good for the engine. It is much better to run a small engine hard than to lightly load a big engine.
