Narrow boat rental

I am a international Airline pilot who always makes a point to pick up your magazine whenever I am in the UK. For the rest of July I will be '€śovernighting'€ť in Birmingham. This means I will have two days and two nights there.
I am interested in renting a narrow boat for one night out of Birmingham or nearby. Do you have any information you could send me about boat rentals?

WW says:

One night rentals are, unfortunately, not that common. However, you might be able to get a boat at last minute.
The closest boat hire you are likely to find are UK Boat Hire at Alvechurch (www.alvechurch.co.uk), Anglo-Wlesh Boat Hire at Tardebigge (www.anglowelsh.co.uk), both of which are a short train ride from Birmingham.
Other WW readers might be able to give you some more information. A trawl through the classified advertisements in any copy of Waterways World you might have will help- boatyards are often quite happy to hire out last minute, so are worth a phone call. There are quite a few boatyards within a 30 minute train ride of New Street station- take a look at www.waterscape.com as well.
Best of luck and hope you get to go boating! Let us know how you get one.
