WW says:

You should be fine to do the East Midlands Ring in a fortnight - though as ever on a hire-boat, keep a rough plan of your itinerary and be prepared to cruise for an hour or so longer if you slip behind.
The River Soar is usually fairly tame in May, but keep an eye out in case of heavy rain beforehand.
Safe overnight mooring in Leicester is available at Castle Gardens (you'll need a BW key). Moorings on the Soar are generally possible on the canal sections and at pubs along the way. Otherwise, you can pretty much tie up anywhere.
It's a lovely ring - enjoy it!

Except as WW says you will have no problems provided the Soar and Trent are benign. We actually call this the Leicester Ring and have done it several times in 9 days. With a fortnight you will do it easily. In fact you could pull in the Welford Arm and even the Ashbly. Certainly do one or the other. Good places to stop are Rugby,Braunston,Crick,Zouch,Shardlow,Willington,Branston,Alrewas,Fradley and Hopwas(Red Lion). All in all plent to see and do,have agood time.
