Boat cruises on the upper Thames

To celebrate my 60th birthday I am looking for a day/evening cruise with the family and I have seen a TV programme about a large boat that operates on the Thames. Do you have more details on who to contact please?

Readers say:

There are at least five main operators of large trip boats on the Thames, plus two priveate hire concerns.
Which one you choose may depend on where you live and / or what you want to see, oh, and how big your budget is...
1. Turk Launches - Kingston on Thames
2. French Brothers - Windsor and Eton
3. Maidenhead Steam Navigation.- Maidenhead (Taplow)
4. Hobbs of Henley
4. Thames River Cruisers - Reading
5. Salters Steamers - Oxford
Private hire:-
Thames Steamers (steam boat Alaska) - Marlow.
African Queen - Mapledurham
Most (if not all) have a web presence, so I'll let you do that part of research.
Being a Thames boater all of these companies are known to me.
The grandest is "Alaska" closely followed by French Brothers "Nuneham".
Both are steam driven and may tend to ruin your pocket, but well worth the expense!
