I have seen online a Hunter 4 LPG which is recommended for canal boats but I am wondering how it can be fixed to the hearth whiich is tiled. Can the BSS give me any advice. I don`t want to buy it if it won`t pass its test.

Looking at the Hunter Hawk 4, which is like a wood burner with a flue, it does look as though it might be suitable for a boat, if it has flame failure protection. I would suggest contacting the BSS office directly to get a definitive answer; the phone number is 0333 202 1000.
It can be fixed down in the same manner as any multi-fuel stove; by securing the legs to the hearth, either directly with screws or with small brackets. This is a BSS requirement and ensures that the stove will not fall over, and the flue will not be strained.
